IMCW Community Picnic, October 23, Meadowbrook Park

You are invited to an All Sangha/Community Picnic on Sunday, October 23, rain or shine at 2:30–5:30 p.m.

Location: Meadowbrook Park Activity Building in Rock Creek Park, 7901 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase, MD 20815

Red Line Metro: Silver Spring. A shuttle from the Metro will be provided from 2-3 p.m. and from 5-6 p.m. *

Meadowbrook Park offers covered indoor and outdoor eating areas, grills, a playground, and all of Rock Creek Park to explore.

Vegan and non-vegan grill food and refreshments will be provided, as well as games and ample opportunity to socialize with your fellow sangha (community) members in a relaxed park setting.

Please bring a side dish or dessert to share! IMCW will provide food for the grill (meat and vegan), refreshments and paper goods.

Please also bring any games that people will enjoy. Outdoor games if it’s sunny; indoor if it’s rainy.

We are looking for volunteers to help:
  • pick-up food, paper goods and utensils from area grocery stores (Costco, Whole Foods, etc)
  • shuttle people from Silver Spring Metro
  • set-up, serve and clean-up
  • plan simple games
  • work the grill (both meat and vegan)

More public transportation options: J2 bus runs from Bethesda metro to Meadowbrook Lane (10 minutes), and then it's an 8-minute walk.

The J2 also runs from Silver Spring Metro to Meadowbrook (7 minutes), or RIDE ON Bus #1. Same 8-minute walk.
