Angela is an Affiliate Teacher with the Insight Meditation Community of Washington DC. Angela teaches in the Washington DC area and leads a weekly meditation class for the Inter-American Development Bank in DC. In addition to teaching, she provides one-on-one coaching for new and experienced meditators, including small groups (e.g., of friends or couples) in the DC area. In both her teaching and coaching, Angela specializes in awareness and grounding practices, establishing or deepening a practice, and applications of mindfulness in responding to difficult emotions and challenges, including in work settings, times of transition, relationships with others, and busy and/or isolated lives.
Angela has a doctorate in social psychology and has been practicing mindfulness and meditation for twenty years. Insight meditation (Vipassana) informs her life and work. She began her studies in meditation at the Cambridge Insight Meditation Center (CIMC) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has studied with Jonathan Foust, Pat Coffey, Hugh Byrne, and Tara Brach in the DC area, Narayan Liebenson and Larry Rosenberg at CIMC, and with Anam Thubten. She considers Larry Rosenberg her “founding father” in the practice.
