Venerable Khenchen Tsultrim Lodro Rinpoche is one of the most important Buddhist teachers of our time. The Rinpoche is a respected contemporary Nyingma teacher of Tibetan Buddhism based at Larung Gar, where he serves as a standing Vice Principal having overseen monastic education at Larung for twenty years.
A native of Sichuan Province, he is an influential public intellectual and a strong advocate of Dharma, Tibetan culture and protection of all living beings. Khenchen has traveled extensively to teach the Dharma having spoken at Harvard, Oxford and Stanford around topics central to science and Buddhism that probe the mysteries of life and mind.
He is instrumental in driving the current vegetarian movement in Tibet. In addition, motivated by the ongoing spread of AIDS in the region, in 2012, he founded the General Benefit AIDS Prevention Association for both AIDS and drug prevention in the Tibetan region. His publications include five volumes of collected writings, and his Chinese monographs include the eleven-volume Wisdom Light series, Why Aren’t We Happy?, Stories of Transmigration, Buddhism: Superstition or Wisdom?, The Secret Code for Unlocking Tibetan Buddhism, and Tibetan Buddhism: Lifting the Veil of Mystery.
