Cynthia is a psychologist and life-long seeker of truth and understanding of the human experience. When she found the path of insight meditation, she felt she had come home to a place that resonated with her most deeply held values and beliefs.
Her personal practice and work as a psychotherapist has developed through personal experience and practice, abiding in the natural world, silent meditation retreats, the Meditation Teacher Training Institute led by Tara Brach, Jonathan Foust, Hugh Byrne, and Pat Coffey. Cynthia considers Tara Brach to be her primary teacher. She is also a certified meditation teacher in Judith Blackstone’s Realization Process, meditations for fully inhabiting the body, and she completed Brigit Visknin’s three-level training on bodywork for trauma resolution and embodiment of spirit. These various tools for working with thoughts, emotions, and somatic experience are woven together in Cynthia’s teaching and individual consultation.
