The Next Right Thing: Lessons From Princess Anna

Last week, my daughter Lily and I needed to spice up quarantine, as life was beginning to taste a bit bland. Thanks to Lily, I’ve now had a number of unexpected firsts. I danced in my first TikTok video. I made my first scar wax with Lily, a budding special-effects make-up artist (did you know that vaseline and flour make an amazing skin-like paste from which you can create the most frighteningly-real wounds?). And Lily gave my tresses their first encounter with Manic Panic vegan hair dye. No surprise, red-purple-green hair is not so becoming on me. Sigh -- it only lasts six weeks....

Coming Home: Reflections on the 2019 Family Retreats

This past July, our family retreats brought together over 130 children, parents, teens, and staff to unplug and reconnect -- with each other, one’s self, and nature. Through games, skits, meditation, family connector activities, dialogue, crafts, music, and nature activities, the time was rich with laughter, connection and renewal....

New England Family Dharma Retreat in the Berkshire Mountains

We are pleased to announce that the IMCW Family Program teachers -- Ofosu, Jen, and Fred – will be leading a New England Family Dharma Retreat in the Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts, July 19-23, at the beautiful Eastover Estate & Eco-Village.  Activities will include skits, games, songs, art, mindful movement, nature activities, a campfire, meditation, and dharma talks. During free time, optional activities include swimming, mindful sports, drumming, nature activities, Qi Gong, and parent workshops....
