Meditations for Compassion, Wisdom & Ethics in the U.S.

Where: The Ellipse, beside the White House

When: Saturday, October 6, 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m.

This event is to provide an opportunity for people to gather together on the Ellipse, beside the White House, to meditate in an effort to bring greater mindfulness, compassion, wisdom and an ethics of loving-kindness into the public discourse and into the energetic exchange of our democracy.

The event will begin with brief  opening remarks (5-10 minutes) followed by a 15 minute guided mindfulness meditation. This will be followed by a group reading of a traditional Buddhist prayer of compassion. Then after brief closing remarks, there will be time for individuals, groups and sanghas who have come to engage in silent meditation, yoga, chants, recitations or prayers on behalf of the nation.

If your group or sangha would like to be listed as a co-sponsor of this event (no fees involved) just email Lorne Ladner.
