Guest teacher: Radhule Weininger
Topic: Heartwork: The Path of Self-Compassion
“There is no healing without heartwork, intimately tending to the wounds we’ve been avoiding for so long. (The practices taught here by) Radhule Weininger will help you find the courage, pathways and clarity needed to embrace this life with love.”
~ Tara Brach
You will learn accessible compassion practices, which are relevant to your life, as well as on-the-go practices, which will assist you in bringing mindfulness and warmth into your daily life, especially to times that are stressful for you.
In the evening talk you will discover how to emerge from a sense of unworthiness and self-blame so you can heal the relationship with yourself. Through the practices of mindful and loving awareness, self-compassion, self-forgiveness and gratitude you will learn how to transform habits of self-limitation into making friends with yourself. Doing so will allow you to feel grounded and strong even in these uncertain times.
When you set yourself free at last you will be able to participate courageously and creatively in our world. Developing a deep sense of friendship with yourself will allow you to feel loving and connected as well as meaningfully engaged with others and our world.
Insight meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind. This class includes 1/2 hour of Vipassana meditation instruction and guided meditation followed by an hour-long dharma talk. This is a large gathering of approximately 250-300 people.
No registration is necessary.
Once each month, on the 3rd Wednesday (only), this class is ASL (American Sign Language)-interpreted. Please email Glen Harrison, the class coordinator, if you will be attending so that he can save you a space near the interpreter.
Newcomers to meditation and long time practitioners are welcome to attend IMCW classes. Chairs are always provided or you may bring your sitting gear.
