Kindness, Presence and Grace: the Art of Mindfulness and the Grace of Each Moment
Being present for each moment can be challenging in a society and culture that promotes disengagement. There is a strong conditioning to turn towards the future or past and this can create the environments for deep suffering. In the context of this culture that often reinforces distraction, it can be easy to miss what is here.
It is important to learn and know that each moment is an opportunity to begin again. What it takes is a kind presence.
In this sit and discussion with mindfulness teacher Ofosu Jones-Quartey, we will examine the patterns that turns us away from presence. We will discuss practices that remind us that each moment is an opportunity to restart, reset and renew. It is through kindness, presence and grace that we can recognize, allow and ultimately open ourselves and release suffering.
The session will include silent meditation, a dharma talk, and a brief time Q and A.
The session is from 7-8:30 p.m. If you arrive late, please wait to enter through the back door until the meditation has ended.
