Daylong: Gratitude Retreat – Taking in the Good
Gratitude is healthy for the heart. Yet so much of what we are automatically drawn to notice is the unpleasant—experiences we reject as bad or wrong or not quite good enough. In this silent daylong retreat, the day after Thanksgiving, we’ll be resting in the spacious now—allowing it to be “enough”.
When we stop struggling with the way things are, we discover not only that this moment might be enough and that *we* are enough just as we are, but also that aspects of the present moment contains pleasant aspects that we might open to and be nourished by. In this way, gratitude and appreciation often naturally arise as we notice as what might be pleasant, as we take in the good.
To support us in this exploration, we’ll be practicing mindfulness and compassion practices including sitting and walking meditation, lovingkindness meditation, body scan, mindful movement and gratitude practices. We’ll share a mindful meal together, allowing ourselves to be supported by the presence of the sangha that has gathered. Please bring a potluck dish to share—more information will be sent to registrants.
This venue is accessible for those with mobility impairments.

IMCW Retreats and Workshops
IMCW retreats and workshops offer instruction in Buddhist meditation and talks on the awakening of our natural insight, love and wisdom. While the meditation practices derive from the Buddhist tradition, they are universal in orientation and address spiritual themes of concern to all contemplative traditions.
A workshop is not primarily silent (talking may be allowed during breaks and lunch) and may be focused on a special topic, such as applying meditation to relationships, emotional healing or physical well-being. Workshops may include a variety of formats, including different reflections and exercises and the sharing of experiences.
Our daylongs open for registration 12 weeks in advance.
