How many times have we entered into conversation with the desire to increase the level of wisdom or to deepen intimacy only to have come up disappointed
Reaching out to another has eluded us in so many ways. It would seem simple but turns out to be quite complicated. So many pitfalls, misunderstandings, suffering, stress, and anxiety, find their source in conversations that lack mindfulness and heartfulness. Not a pretty picture!
What happens to the pure intentions, inner peace, or honest sorrow, felt during silent meditation?
Toward a Solution
In this communications workshop we will explore and experiment with finding a wise path through difficult conversations. We will cultivate the qualities and insights inherent in human nature that encourage mutual understanding, empathy, intimacy, and meaningful communication.
We will use mindfulness practices, teaching, and dialogue to integrate the basic principles of mindful listening and speaking into daily life.
Learn to bring the honesty, peacefulness, and openness of introspective reflection into the interpersonal world of relationships. This is a key to reducing suffering and minimizing the chaos caused by interactions that are not rooted in the present.
Honesty and intimacy with ourselves and shared with others is at the core of meaningful interaction.

IMCW Retreats and Workshops
IMCW retreats and workshops offer instruction in Buddhist meditation and talks on the awakening of our natural insight, love and wisdom. While the meditation practices derive from the Buddhist tradition, they are universal in orientation and address spiritual themes of concern to all contemplative traditions.
A workshop is not primarily silent (talking may be allowed during breaks and lunch) and may be focused on a special topic, such as applying meditation to relationships, emotional healing or physical well-being. Workshops may include a variety of formats, including different reflections and exercises and the sharing of experiences.
Our daylongs open for registration 12 weeks in advance.
Scholarships: Scholarships are available. To apply, please click the "Contact Us" button below before registering. You can also direct a donation to the scholarship fund on the registration form. Please apply early as funds are limited.
IMCW Refund Policy: $15 of the registration fee is non-refundable. If you contact the retreat manager by clicking the "Contact Us" button below three weeks before the event, the balance of your registration will be refunded. Issuing a refund check may take 2-4 weeks. If you cancel less than three weeks before your retreat begins, your full payment is forfeited.
