Tending to What’s Real

Ven. Dr. Pannavati Online, Zoom

Ven. Dr. Pannavati

2/14/2021 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM (ET/U.S. & Canada, 2nd Sundays)  at  Online, Zoom (Virtual) (Map It)

Second Sunday Dharma Series

In this class, Ven. Pannavati talks with IMCW teacher Kristin Barker about the importance of seeing clearly what is right in front of us, and how this can be the most powerful tool for awakening.

Ven. Pannavati, a former Christian pastor, is now a Buddhist monk ordained in the Theravada and Chan traditions. She is the co-founder of the Embracing Simplicity Hermitage and The Heartwood Refuge, both in Hendersonville, NC. Pannavati has dedicated her life to advocating for social justice, the homeless, sick and disenfranchised, those who are marginalized, abused, neglected and unloved. She believes it is fine to sit in temples and meditate and pray when things are good; when they are not, we are compelled to get off our pillows and do something. She lives the Dhamma.

This special series is being offered in the spirit of generosity. You must register for each session in advance, and will be asked to make a donation that aligns with your circumstances. No one will be turned away for financial reasons. You will receive a link to that month’s live webinar, and each participant will receive a link afterwards to the recording (which will be available for 90 days).

We appreciate your generosity. Proceeds from these events will support a variety of IMCW programs, including our scholarship and Larry Yang BIPOC Fund. An option is available so that none may be turned away, but participants are strongly encouraged to make a donation by registering for a Zoom link below.

Note: Because this is an online event, participants are encouraged to find space of relative quiet, limiting the amount of interaction with others in the environment as much as possible. Participants may join by internet or via phone.

Participants will be given the Zoom link in the registration confirmation email and again via email the week before the event begins.
