Meditation and Dharma (Teaching) Talk
*** Please note that the location has changed.***
In keeping with the Thai Forest Tradition, and in respect for the monks, many attendees will be sitting on the floor. Please bring your meditation cushion and mat if you own one. There will be chairs for those that prefer one.
The Venerable Ajahn Sumedho is a seminal figure in the transmission of Buddha’s teachings to the West, has served as a monastic since 1967, and was the abbot of Amaravati Buddhist Monastery in the UK from its founding in 1984 until his retirement in 2010. Having trained in the Thai Forest Tradition under the Venerable Ajahn Chah, Ajahn Sumedho has come to be considered his most influential Western disciple.
Sumedho is visiting the Washington, DC region for the first time. This is a rare and special opportunity to sit and participate in a discussion with this esteemed teacher.
In keeping with the monastic tradition, this dharma talk is offered on a dana (donation) basis, to be offered at the time of the event. Registration is required.
This facility is handicapped-accessible.
Click on the menu Teachers page for teacher biographies, events and (where available) talks.
