PLEASE NOTE: The front doors are locked at 7:30 p.m. to comply with Willow Street's guidelines.

For the rest of 2017, we will be going through the suttas in Bhikkhu Bodhi’s book: The Buddha’s Teachings on Social and Communal Harmony.

Insight meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind.

Class begins with a brief optional chant, followed by a half hour guided meditation and dharma talk. We usually end with time for questions and sharing. Our diverse group of teachers is united by a love of finding practical wisdom for our daily lives within the traditional Buddhist teachings.

We aspire to create a safe, supportive community, and welcome everyone with an interest in meditation, regardless of identity, orientation or background. Join us for a “first Sunday” of the month, when all are invited to stay after class to share a cup of tea, meet and chat.

We meet almost every week of the year, except for weather emergencies and some major holidays (see the schedule below). No registration is necessary for any of our classes, and newcomers are always welcome. In the Buddhist tradition, the teachings are considered so precious as to be priceless. Thus they are given freely, with the opportunity to offer voluntary donations, or dana to support the teacher and class expenses. A donation (dana) of $10-15 is suggested for IMCW classes, but all are welcome, regardless of their ability to pay.

Chairs, yoga blankets and bolsters are available in the studio, or bring your own sitting gear.

Click on the menu Teachers page for teacher biographies, events and (where available) talks.
