Weekend Retreat: Awareness-the Path to Freedom
Hugh Byrne and Rebecca Hines
10/1/2017 at Pearlstone Retreat Center, (5425 Mount Gilead Road, Reisterstown, MD, 21136) (Map It)
Friday, September 29-Sunday, October 1
This retreat, suitable for both new and experienced meditators, offers a path for developing clarity of awareness with each moment. This leads to greater calm and stability of mind and the deepening of insight. Practicing and deepening into a continuity of mindfulness allows us to recognize each moment's experience and insight into reality. This knowledge weakens conditioned habits of mind that cause unhappiness and supports an enduring sense of ease and well-being. Liberation is the mind released from mental states that result in suffering to oneself and others.
The retreat will be held in Noble Silence, and will include guidance for bringing mindfulness to all daily activities, including periods for sitting, walking, movement, meals, dharma talks, and time for Q&A.
Check-in begins @ 4 p.m. on Friday; retreat ends after lunch Sunday with lunch served at 12 p.m.
Meals at the Pearlstone Retreat Center are lacto-ovo vegetarian. Please note on your registration if you have any special dietary restrictions.
