An evening of meditation, conscious communication and connection for IMCW singles. Bring a dish or beverage to share for the potluck, if you wish. No registration is necessary.
- 7:00 p.m. arriving and snacks
- 7:30-8:45 p.m. short dharma talk, meditation, discussion, and mindful activities
- 8:45 p.m. potluck and socializing
The IMCW Singles' Sangha is a welcoming community of people who gather to experience a shared connection with others who are, by choice or by circumstance, single at this time in their lives. In a couple-centric world, our purpose is simply to create a space for connection and shared experience.
We practice inclusion of and respect for our sangha’s rich diversity of ages, experiences, identities and personal expression, and encourage all varieties and ages of single people to join.
This class is offered freely, however a dana (donation) of $15 is suggested to help us meet our expenses.
Volunteer: To support the event and meet like-minded singles, we encourage you to arrive early and stay late to help with a few simple tasks.
Newcomers to meditation and long time practitioners are welcome to attend our regular weekly and monthly classes in metro D.C. Chairs are always provided or you may bring your sitting gear.
Insight meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind. This class includes 1/2 hour of Vipassana meditation instruction and guided meditation followed by an hour-long dharma talk.
