Cultivating True Nourishment: Mindful Eating and Living

This daylong retreat is designed to guide you back home to the wellsprings of nourishment inside of you. Through mindfulness practices, meditation, inquiry, lovingkindness, self-compassion, gentle movement and mindful eating practices, guest teacher Andrea Lieberstein will teach you skills to navigate cravings and habits, however subtle, that lead you to seek nourishment outside of yourself through food or other means that do not truly fulfill.

You’ll learn science-based mindful eating practices to experience food as pleasure and nourishment while finding right relationship to amount and quality in each moment. We will explore what true nourishment is, how to abide in true nourishment regardless of the circumstance and finally, be introduced to the "Eight Bodies" model to cultivate a life that is fulfilling on all levels.

This venue is accessible for those with mobility impairments.

IMCW Retreats and Workshops

IMCW retreats and workshops offer instruction in Buddhist meditation and talks on the awakening of our natural insight, love and wisdom. While the meditation practices derive from the Buddhist tradition, they are universal in orientation and address spiritual themes of concern to all contemplative traditions.

A workshop is not primarily silent (talking may be allowed during breaks and lunch) and may be focused on a special topic, such as applying meditation to relationships, emotional healing or physical well-being. Workshops may include a variety of formats, including different reflections and exercises and the sharing of experiences.
