Dharma Talk: The Four Noble Truths: The Buddha’s Teaching on Suffering and the End of Suffering
The Buddha said that all of his teachings fit within the teaching of the Four Noble Truths in the way that the footprints of all other animals fit within the footprint of an elephant. We explore how through 1) gaining a deep understanding of suffering; 2) abandoning the cause of suffering—craving; 3) realizing the end of suffering—freedom or Nirvana; and 4) developing the path to the end of suffering—the Noble Eightfold Path—we can realize complete freedom from suffering in this very life. As Ajahn Chah said, ‘Your struggle with the world will be at an end.’
