Dharma Talk: The Heart of Our Practice
For the Buddha in his search for awakening, the central question to be resolved was: Is there an end to suffering? This is a fundamental question because our happiness and freedom depend on the answer to this question (in a way that understanding gravity or how the planetary system functions doesn’t directly impact our freedom). In this talk, we examine 1) the power of saying ‘yes’ to what is in finding freedom; 2) why it can be difficult to meet our experience with acceptance; and 3) how cultivating mindfulness of the body can support us in letting go of the clinging that leads to suffering.
