Cultivating Mindful Relationships: Partially Silent Weekend Retreat

Wellspring Conference Center Stan Eisenstein Nancy Brutsché

Stan Eisenstein and Nancy Brutsché

8/30/2019 4:00 PM - 9/1/20195:00 PM  at  Wellspring Conference Center (11411 Neelsville Church Road, Germantown, MD, 20876) (Map It)

This retreat is designed for those who would like to work toward healing or deepening relationships with partners, family members, friends, coworkers and/or others.  In this retreat, we will be applying a variety of mindfulness practices, meditations, exercises, and Buddhist teachings to help participants work through relational difficulties and cultivate interconnectedness.

Much of the retreat will be held in Noble Silence, though there will be periods when we will be interacting in small groups or with partners. There will be both guided and unguided meditations throughout the weekend.

Participants may come alone or with someone they would like to work with during the retreat.

[Note: Participants in particularly tenuous relationships may be better served by coming to the retreat alone. Long-established patterns of interaction leading to relationships that are close to being severed are probably not best worked out in a group setting.]

Wellspring Conference Center is located on the property of Dayspring -- a 200+ acre expanse of woodlands, meadows, ponds and wildlife in Germantown, MD, a suburb of Washington, D.C.

All of the buildings are sited and constructed to conform to the existing landscape and limit the ecological footprint. With a unique angular, split-level design, our three rustic cabins open up to the forest with window expanses connecting inside spaces with the surrounding woods. The main meeting building features floor-to-ceiling windows along its three sides, a stone fireplace and a vaulted ceiling sheathed in light pine, topped by a skylight.

This venue is accessible for those with mobility impairments.

Arrival starts at 4 p.m. on Friday. Dinner is at 5:30, and the formal program begins at 7 p.m. The retreat concludes at 5 p.m. on Sunday, with an optional dinner afterward.

Tasty and healthy home-cooked meals feature fresh baked breads, and at breakfast, Wellspring's signature "Janet's Scones" with creme and seasonal berries or fruits.
