Insight meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind. This class includes 1/2 hour of Vipassana meditation instruction and guided meditation followed by an hour-long dharma talk. This is a large gathering of approximately 250-300 people.

No registration is necessary. There will be an opportunity at class to offer dana (donation) to support the teacher and venue.

ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreting up to once per month can be requested for this class at least 3 weeks in advance. Please email IMCW, if you are interested.

Newcomers to meditation and long time practitioners are welcome to attend IMCW classes. Chairs are always provided or you may bring your sitting gear.

Neurodharma: Deep Practice with the Brain in Mind

Awakening is both a journey and destination. We’ll explore it in terms of seven ways of being that are fully developed in the great sages and teachers - and also, deep down, in ourselves. Informed by both ancient wisdom and modern science, we’ll approach these ways of being as practices for everyday life:

  • steadying the mind
  • warming the heart
  • resting in fullness
  • being wholeness
  • receiving nowness
  • opening into allness
  • finding timelessness

This will be an experiential, practical evening, and everyone is invited!
