Fire Unbound: The Liberating Practices of the Noble Eightfold Path

The Third Noble Truth tells us that stress and suffering cease, and The Fourth Noble Truth, taking up a path of practice, will cause this cessation. Please join us for a day of the liberating practices of this path comprised of  sila, samadhi, and panna, or, ethics, meditation, and wisdom.

Many people are familiar with meditation-- we are encouraged to sit, and we equate "practice" with "sitting". But there is a deeper dimension to practice: how we set our intentions, grow in understanding, and move through relationships and activities.

Please join us as we explore, through meditation and reflection, this deeper dimension.

IMCW retreats and workshops offer instruction in Buddhist meditation and talks on the awakening of our natural insight, love and wisdom. While the meditation practices derive from the Buddhist tradition, they are universal in orientation and address spiritual themes of concern to all contemplative traditions.

A workshop is not primarily silent (talking may be allowed during breaks and lunch) and may be focused on a special topic, such as applying meditation to relationships, emotional healing or physical well-being. Workshops may include a variety of formats, including different reflections and exercises and the sharing of experiences.
