The IMCW Family Program invites you to join our second annual New England Family Retreat, our favorite event of the year. Gift your family quality time together to relax and reconnect in supportive community at the beautiful Prindle Pond Conference Center in Charlton, Massachusetts. The IMCW family retreat is open to parents, grandparents, and guardians with children ages 5-19 interested in cultivating deeper presence, joy, resilience, and connection in everyday family life.

Both beginning and experienced mindfulness practitioners are welcome. The retreat balances engaged activities with free time. There will be time for collective family practice as well as time for parents, teens, tweens, and younger children (age 5+) to break-out into groups and engage with peers. Adults will have opportunities to practice meditation together and engage in facilitated adult discussion. Teens will spend a portion of their time serving as Teen Mindful Leaders (MLs), assisting Senior MLs in leading activities for the younger children. Community service hours are available.

Activities include mindfulness-centered skits, games, songs, art, movement, nature activities, a bonfire, meditation, and teaching talks offered by senior teachers. During free time, optional activities may include sports, dancing, crafts, nature activities, Qi Gong, and parent workshops.

Parent Testimonials:

"We were surprised at how much we connected as a family.... My daughter, who is 8, asked when it was over, 'Can we go again next year?'"

"This retreat is a rare opportunity to unplug from our tech-saturated lives and connect with what is true in our family relationships... This is one of the few retreats available in the country focused on families with school-age kids.”
