Life and Death

James Baraz Online via Zoom Trisha Stotler

James Baraz and Trisha Stotler

3/14/2021 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM (ET/U.S. & Canada, 2nd Sundays)  at  Online via Zoom (Virtual) (Map It)

Second Sunday Dharma Series

Our apologies, but Frank Ostaseski has had to cancel this class for health reasons. James Baraz will be speaking at this class.

At a fundamental level, all dharma practice is training in letting go - through the smaller births and deaths that arise throughout our lives, and in preparation for "the big one" at the end.

Join us for this special conversation with James Baraz and IMCW teacher Trisha Stotler, on how the dharma serves as a North Star when we find ourselves in uncharted territory. James Baraz has led the Heavenly Messenger Training Program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center, which explores awakening through aging, illness and death. And Trisha has led retreats on what she calls everyday bardos -- or life transitions -- and has facilitated popular "Death Cafes" in Northern Virginia.

This event is a fundraiser for the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, DC. An option is available so that none may be turned away, but participants are strongly encouraged to make a donation by registering for a Zoom link below.

You will receive a link to that month’s live webinar, and each participant will receive a link afterwards to the recording (which will be available for 90 days).

Questions: Your participation in the Q&A portion of this class, if any, may be included in the recording. If you do not wish to be recorded, please submit your questions via the Zoom Chat feature instead of on-screen.

Note: Because this is an online event, participants are encouraged to find space of relative quiet, limiting the amount of interaction with others in the environment as much as possible. Participants may join by internet or via phone.

Participants will be given the Zoom link in the registration confirmation email and again via email the week before the event begins.
