Steve Zappalla developed a deep appreciation for mindfulness and meditation during his own transition from military to civilian life. His meditation practice led him into a career as a meditation teacher, psychotherapist, and pastoral counselor.
In 2012 Steve completed Tara Brach’s two year Meditation Teacher Training Institute program (MTTI). He has participated in numerous week-long and extended retreats and trainings by leading spiritual teachers from a variety of traditions and backgrounds.
Steve earned his PhD in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, works as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), is a National Board Certified Counselor and a State Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). He holds certifications in addictions and trauma. His main focus is on military populations, addiction, trauma, and serves all populations needing mental health treatment. Steve helps people find healing, self compassion, and to cope with difficult emotions. He is the father of six adult children and enjoys being a part of their lives.
