Bill spent 10 years in a Catholic seminary where he studied and practiced meditation in the Christian Tradition. He received a B.A. in philosophy, completed 4 years of graduate study in theology, and was ordained to the priesthood. After four years in the active ministry, he went on to pursue his interest in psychology and mindfulness practice while establishing a career in the Annapolis marine industry.
During these years in the business world, Bill co-coordinated the IMCW Spiritual Friends (KM) program for 5 years and spent 10 years as a KM facilitator. He has over 25 years of experience in meditation practice.
In preparation for teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Bill completed his training in this field from 2006 to 2009 at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School, where he earned the title, Qualified MBSR Teacher. He is now devoting his professional life to teaching mindfulness practice, specializing in the classic 8-week MBSR Program that was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and in teaching mindful communication.
Bill also created a Mindfulness-Based preparation for marriage program and celebrated weddings for over 150 couples over the past 8 years.
Bill believes that Mindfulness Practice is effective because it calls upon our deepest spiritual resources and our natural ability to transform.
