Amy Smith has been a dedicated practitioner of Vipassana meditation for more than 7 years. Before moving to DC in 2010, Amy worked for 2 years as operations director of InsightLA, a mindfulness center in Santa Monica, CA. During that time, she attended numerous dharma classes and retreats, and participated in InsightLA’s teacher training program. Her guiding teachers are Trudy Goodman, Tara Brach, Jonathan Foust, and Anam Thubten Rinpoche.
Since her arrival in Washington, Amy has been engaged with the IMCW Capitol Hill sangha, participating on the coordination committee and as a teacher. She currently works at an international conservation organization to promote responsible forestry and trade.
